La Vaughn Belle: A History of Unruly Returns
In fall 2020, the National Nordic Museum opened the first solo exhibition of La Vaughn Belle’s work in the Pacific Northwest. In 2024, the exhibition returns, reimagined and represented in expanded form in the Museum’s Barbro Osher and Fjord Hall Alcove Galleries.

Ginny Ruffner: Project Aurora
Ballard-based artist Ginny Ruffner brings her monumental Project Aurora to the National Nordic Museum, a wall of light 20’ in height and programmed to undulate, evoking the Aurora Borealis.
This installation runs on a fixed schedule from Tuesday through Sunday, from noon until 10:00 pm.
